Jake BENTLEY YOUNG is an actor and artist based in New York City.
Born and raised in Sacramento, CA, Jake spent most of his childhood balancing baseball games by day and community theatre rehearsal by night. Sophomore year of high school, he performed in a new musical at the New York International Fringe Festival and his passion for storytelling was set in stone.
Jake is a proud alumni of Texas State University, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre magna cum laude, under the direction of Kaitlin Hopkins. During his studies, he worked closely alongside Lauren Lane, Kiira Schmidt, Jim Price, Cassie Abate, and Neil Patrick Stewart. Most recently, Jake studied at The Atlantic Acting School under Paris Ellsworth. Over the years, he has worked at numerous regional theaters including Paper Mill Playhouse, Broadway at Music Circus, North Shore Music Theatre, Stages St. Louis, and the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma.
In addition to performing, Jake is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a musician and songwriter, and a self-proclaimed existentialist. On his days off, you can find him road-tripping to the nearest national park, binging Netflix stand-up specials, or probing his friends with unprompted philosophical questions. Jake is also enthusiastic about reframing the way society perceives masculinity in the arts. In 2018, he delivered a TEDx Talk titled “I’m Masculine Because I’m an Artist. Why are you?” You can watch it here.
